Low Voltage Systems Designer

We are seeking a qualified individual that would fill a full-time Low Voltage Systems Designer position in the Virginia Beach office.  The preferred applicant shall have an understanding of the consulting engineering industry.  The applicant will be involved in the design of low voltage systems for various types of federal, state, municipal, and private sector facilities.  Examples include but are not limited to; office buildings, retail buildings, restaurants, hospitals and other medical facilities, military facilities, entertainment venues, museums, libraries, K-12 schools, higher education facilities, and multifamily buildings.  The preferred applicant shall have knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software, Microsoft Office, the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (NFPA 72), and other related building codes and standards.  Knowledge of fire alarm, telephone/data, access control, intrusion detection, IP camera, and other low voltage systems is also required.

The position allows for growth into a management level position. Salary will be commensurate with experience and abilities.

Requirements:

* Understanding of fire alarm, telecommunications, and other low voltage systems for facilities.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD or REVIT design software is preferred.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or Engineering Technology) preferred, but not required
* RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) and/or OSP (Outside Plant Designer) certification is a plus
* Project management experience is a plus
