The new central library for the City is comprised of the past, present, and future. It included the historic restoration of the 47,600 SF Seaboard Building and 6,600 SF of the Selden Arcade, as well as 70,200 SF of new construction. A glass atrium entryway joins the buildings into a single complex.

Electrical design included:
-Refurbishing historical light fixtures
-New LED and fluorescent lighting, including color changing LED’s
-Building-wide automated lighting control system, including daylight harvesting
-Fully addressable fire alarm system
-Two electrical services and natural gas generators
-Raised floor system with underfloor power and telecommunications distribution

Mechanical design included:
-Unique underfloor air distribution system
-Modular chillers
-Gas boilers
-DDC controls
-Stairwell pressurization
-Atrium smoke evacuation system
