Reimagine Nauticus, Phase II, Norfolk, Virginia
This project included the renovation of Nauticus exhibit spaces, first-floor lobby, and the modifications to PME systems to accommodate the exhibit space renovations. The “Reimagine Nauticus” campaign intrinsically ties the organization together with its community through (1) STEM-focused programming, (2) relevant and compelling interactive exhibits, and (3) an exploration of real-world jobs and career opportunities.
- The Goode Family Atrium: The newly renovated grand visitor entrance has new lighting, open spaces, and a massive media wall that sets the stage for a “Reimagined Nauticus” experience.
- Design, Build, Sail: Overlooking the Elizabeth River and the Sail Nauticus sailboat fleet, this state-of-the-art gallery blends hands-on interactives with compelling exhibits. Students and visitors learn practical STEM principles like hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, and buoyancy. 7,795 Sq Ft
- Our Port: This exhibit combines proven exhibit techniques in entirely new ways for maximum explanatory power and visitor engagement. 4,550 Sq Ft
- Heart of the Navy: This exhibit advances the public understanding of the Navy as a vital, human-centered enterprise engaged in shaping the future. This gallery places an emphasis on the vital role family and community play in supporting the U.S. Navy. 5,350 Sq Ft.
