PACE Collaborative provided the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services for California-based Stone Brewing Company’s new East Coast production brewery and distribution facility in Richmond, VA. This 220,000 SF building includes infrastructure for a 250 barrel brew house capable of producing 600,000 barrels annually. This facility also includes a 20,000 SF office/retail space, 32,000 SF cold box storage, bottling and kegging lines, receiving for hops and malts, and a testing and development lab. The design included high efficiency rooftop units, Building Automation System, and LED lighting to achieve USGBC LEED credits for certification. The brewing mechanical system included chillers, boilers, and cooling towers dedicated to the brewing process. This design also included two 5,000 Amp electrical services, a 300 kW natural gas generator, and accommodations for the future installation of an estimated 750 kW of roof mounted solar panels. Exterior LED site lighting, including a pedestrian bridge to cross Gillie Creek to the main visitor parking lot was also included.
